(BSc (Hons) Psychol; DPsych Counselling Psychology)

Chartered Counselling Psychologist

Chantalle has an integrative approach to therapy, drawing primarily on CBT and psychodynamic ways of working. In general, she aims to choose therapeutic approaches which provide the best fit with the client's goals. Having said this, her work is likely to explore both how thoughts, behaviours and feelings interact in ways which maintain the presenting difficulty, and how family dynamics and background have contributed its development.

Chantalle trained as a Counselling Psychologist at City University and completed her clinical training in 2010. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology is from the University of Leicester. Chantalle has worked in local NHS services for most of the last 9 years in Learning Disabilities and Adult Mental Health. She has also worked in Drug and Alcohol Services. Currently, in addition to her work at Headington Psychotherapy she works for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. Chantalle has a particular interest in the impact of attachment relationships on mental health, believing that these are at the root of most psychological difficulties. Chantalle considers a positive therapeutic relationship to be the foundation of helpful therapeutic work.

In addition to therapy, Chantalle offers supervision or personal therapy for Counselling Psychology trainees as part of the requirements of their training.
